Legislation (A.521A) has been introduced in New York that will require disclosure of ingredients in menstrual products. Products such as tampons, pads, period underwear, and cups come into direct contact with some of the most sensitive and absorbent tissues on a woman’s body. Yet women using these products do not have the right to know what’s in them. Women have the right to know about ingredients that may cause adverse reactions, or that are linked to cancer, hormone disruption, and birth defects.
Manufacturers should legally be required to disclose the ingredients that are in their products.
