Everyone deserves to live in a healthy and safe environment. That environment includes where you live, work, play, and pray. We reject and actively push back against racist rhetoric, actions, policies and institutional oppression that leads to state-sanctioned brutality, gun violence, and harm that again and again assaults communities, particularly communities of color. We are committed to working for justice and equity, and are in solidarity with social, racial, and environmental justice organizations to build community, understanding and honest dialogue to address the root causes of violence, harm and hate.

Karen

Karen is the founder and CEO of Olivine Consulting LLC, a sustainability consulting firm for businesses—she’s been donating 1% of her profits to WVE since she stumbled across a story on our green cleaning parties in the New York Times in 2009. Karen was brainstorming a party-type event to get women together to talk about green living in general, and WVE’s green cleaning parties gave her the creative spark she needed to launch her Green Gatherings™. She now uses WVE’s reports, fact sheets, and other resources to empower women to make smart, safe, healthy decisions about the every day care of their families, and has hosted over 120 Green Gatherings to date.

When Princeton TV asked to air a spot on Karen on her work, she called WVE to get some advice on television interviews. We trained Karen as a media spokeswoman, and she nailed her interview, making great points about chemicals in cleaning products, women’s health, and consumer right-to-know issues. Watch the TV clip. Karen’s continued to use the talking points that WVE taught her at university presentations, community workshops, and any other opportunity she has to spread our shared message of the urgent need to eliminate toxic chemicals that impact women’s health.
